Westland University, Iwo, was honoured to welcome the Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, alongside his entourage, on a historic courtesy visit to our institution.

During the visit, the Commissioner toured key facilities, interacted with members of the University community, and expressed keen admiration for the institution’s steady growth. He noted with satisfaction the expansive land area of over 800 hectares, describing it as a strategic advantage that ensures future development and expansion will be seamless.

In reinforcing the importance of a safe learning environment, CP Gotan charged the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the area to ensure maximum security within and around the University premises. This directive further reflects his commitment to supporting Westland University’s mission of nurturing innovation in a secure and enabling atmosphere.

Speaking on the vision behind the University, the Commissioner remarked that Westland has “gotten it right from the start,” acknowledging the foresight of establishing a campus that blends academic excellence with capacity for long-term growth.

The visit was a memorable one — not just for its symbolism, but also for the reassurance it brings to students, parents, partners, and the wider community that Westland University is built on strong foundations of safety, vision, and sustainability.
